Hello Everyone -
We are finally back up and posting blogs again. This is the first one that will actually show up on the website for the past several years. Eek! For some reason that section of our website has been down and we didn't realize it. How do you NOT realize it, right? It was taking the written blogs and putting them through like it always had from the backend of the website. We don't go through and look at the frontend of the website a whole lot but this issue will sure curb that!
Where shall we start? I'll start with the most recent news and information and work my way backwards!
On April 1, 2025, the City of Branson decided to close Main Street, our street, for revitalization. Whew, talk about a nightmare for small business! They were supposed to start it during the off-season but, because they didn't get any bids, here we are. The whole street was pulled out, CLOSED to traffic, no entrance on our block... at all. Our sidewalks were also taken out! Though this didn't last as long as the absence of our street, it was still very painful.
Now, what's officially happening in Historic Downtown Branson? A WHOLE LOT! We are getting all new infrastructure, new drainage, new sidewalks, a new street, new benches, new light fixtures, new signage, new landscaping, and more. Our sidewalks are being brought up to ADA standards and will now be very easy for our disabled visitors to access every store and restaurant on both sides of Main. We are excited about this and the fact that Historic Downtown Branson will have its own entry sign showing that it truly is a destination in itself. The work on our block is scheduled to be by completed mid June. We are keeping our fingers crossed and eyes to the sky!
Right now, the contractors are working on putting the sidewalks back in, and they are coming along wonderfully on that! So much better than our old outdated walks, and the look and feel is much wider, too! Wont be long now and we will be back to normal, our new normal, and we are so super excited for that! We will keep you up to date on it all.
